Spring 2024

Greetings,

Annual Meeting

The annual meeting will be held on April 9th at 6 pm at the Town Hall.

Open Book and Board of Review

Questions to the Assessor and Board will be delayed until fall. Our Assessor represents 5 municipalities and we're all under a forced a reevaluation by the Department of Revenue. More on this later.

Election

Don't forget to vote on Tuesday, April 2nd. Polls will be opened from 7am to 8pm.

  1. Westby Schools Referendum

  2. Local School Board Races

  3. Two Resolutions put together by our State Legislators.

Salt Shed

The DNR wants all salt piles covered as soon as possible. We are working with a local architect to gain state approval. Contractors will be asked for sealed bids once the plan is approved. More on this later.

Roads

The mild winter and lack of deep frost has left our roads in better shape than normal. We have received bids for 2024 road material and are ready to go! Currently waiting for pot hole patch to become available, hopefully 1st or 2nd week of April weather pending.

Zoning

The Town's new administrator is Gunnar Gretebeck (608-634-2219). He replaces Paul Thompson who will remain on the zoning committee. Gunnar is a long time resident of our town. Reminder we are zoned Agriculture.

Town Hall

The Town Hall is available for a modest fee of $20.00 for birthdays, celebrations, meeting, etc. Call the shop at 608-634-4184 to reserve a date.

Garbage & Recycling

Hours of operation remain the same: Wednesday's 4:30 to 7 pm and Saturday's 8 am to 4 pm.

Hoping you have an enjoyable spring and summer.
